Lomi-Lomi means “The Dance of Massage and to break up into small pieces”

This is a 1500 year old technique that aims at releasing all physical and emotional congestion in the body, with a full body massage. It is known in Hawaii as the “Dance of Massage” because of its long flowing style and continuous rhythm and beat accompanied by selected tribal music. The therapist and client will become entranced in a spiritual state. You will learn how to transform a loving touch into techniques for healing. The basis for Lomi-Lomi is an integration of Mind-Body-Soul in a ritual of transformation and inspiration. The inspiration is from the Huna or “Pathway of Life”.

You will learn:

  1. Some 12 strokes for a full body massage addressing long, hardened, bulky muscles and cellulite
  2. Breathing techniques and meditation to conserve your energy and build stamina
  3. Circular, spiraling and forearm techniques as well as kneading thumb techniques
  4. How to address the diaphragm, the seat of emotions
  5. Stretch techniques for upper and lower limbs
  6. The use of Aromatherapy essential oils on ear points and the body to enhance the massage
  7. Stretch and strengthening exercises for the massage therapist
  8. Self-care for the massage therapist and client

Unwind, Rock and Move-Level 2 (C502)

$330

with Teresa Greene

Calendar Aug 3, 2024 at 9 am

PREREQUISITE: C500 Unwind, Rock & Move

CE Credits: 13 Hours

Cost: $330 ($375 if registering within 7 days of class)

Advanced Unwind, Rock and Move is the methodology in which I now work with my massage clients and was created by first working with myself in pursuit of healing mind, body and spirit over many years.

Building on the techniques learned in Unwind, Rock and Move, this class moves into using the technique with unclothed bodywork.  This class is mostly hands-on with some discussion.

It is my belief that our bodies were made to heal naturally when given the space and freedom to do so. When we slow down, make connection to the spirit within us and move where that spirit leads, we find freedom and fluidity.  This fluidity encourages good health and balance (homeostasis)to our overall wellbeing….and isn’t that what every human needs!

I look forward to sharing how I work with each of you!

What to Bring: Sheets/face cradle cover/blanket for each day of class for your personal usage.  Your favorite lubrication/lotion that glides easily.  Where clothing that allows you to easily give massage as we will be trading work in the class.

A lunch break will be taken midday.

Call or text Teresa Greene at 615-370-9794 if you have additional questions.

Payment plan available: $110 deposit plus 2 payments of $73.33, paid every four weeks. Final payment of $73.34.

MediCupping™ Therapy Level 1  CAM Applications for VacuTherapies™ in Bodywork

VacuTherapies™ provide a wonderful bridge to the medical community, with special applications for pre- and post-surgery conditions, chiropractic and orthopedic work, conditions associated with Diabetes, Parkinson’s, Fibromylagia, and much more. Results are fast and comfortable for the client and practitioner, and noticeably impressive to medical professionals.

As an adjunct therapy for massage, physical therapy and chiropractic work, easy resolution of soft tissue issues enhances procedures and adjustments to accelerate client progress. Pre and post- surgical conditions such as scarring and restriction quickly respond to this gentle, yet effective, therapy. Athletic performance and injury recovery is also accelerated without discomfort.

This MediCupping™ certification workshop reviews the history of vacuum therapies, applications and contra-indications, and all of the foundation movements. Client intake, assessment and charting are addressed, and the practitioner comes to view the client through the cup, learning to discern information that the body reveals as it is being treated.  The second day focuses on athletic performance, pathologies and deep tissue issues, as well as the use of magnets to accelerate results. The third day is dedicated to the lymphatic system and “Solid Bloat”, including specialized work with obesity and client weight loss programs as well as diabetes and edema.

Students work with and become skilled at using the MC-600 MediCupping™ machine, and will experience intensive hands on exposure to the techniques that are presented.

MediCupping™ produces immediate effects on many conditions, resulting in client enthusiasm and commitment to treatment protocols.

This course is taught by Martha Graham PTA, LMT she can be reached at:

upliftbodyworks@gmail.com or 423-310-4894

This three-day workshop begins at 8:00 am and concludes 4:30 pm each day.  Please arrive 15 minutes prior to class each day.  Successful completion earns 22 NCBTMB CE credits. Graduates of this program become Certified ACE Massage Cupping™ or MediCupping™  Practitioners (CAMCPs) and are listed on the national website with contact information.  A wall certificate is issued upon completion of the workshop.

Please be prompt and dress comfortably.  We suggest bringing a sweater or light jacket for warmth and water for hydration.  Lunch will be determined each day by the presenter and will be one hour long.

What to Expect from Class

Expect the unexpected!  Each student responds to this modality based on their condition at the time.  There is a high level of hands-on work, much more ACE Massage Cupping™ or MediCupping™ bodywork than would normally be done for a client.  Keeping warm and adequate hydration assists any processes that may develop.  Participants who have not received regular bodywork may experience remarkable changes.  These experiences are necessary for the practitioner to fully understand the complex effects of this technique.
