Massage therapy requires self-care of its practitioners to have a sustainable practice/career. It is ideal for therapists to have the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual balance required to give the energy it takes to consistently practice massage therapy.
This class will target each of the aspects for overall self-care.
Our goal is for you to leave class having participated in different methods of self-care, so you may bring some or all of these elements into your life and have a more sustainable massage therapy practice. Class will include yoga asana, savasana, drumming, musical listening and visual art meditation, intuitive movement, tea time among other self-care methods.
This class will be a mixture of discussion, demonstration and supervised practice. Modifications will be offered for those with injuries or conditions that require it.
Please wear comfortable clothing, bring a yoga mat, set of sheets, blanket, face cradle cover, hand towel, and lubrication. Massage tables are provided.
This class will include lecture, self–reflection, sharing and exchanging bodywork. Participants need to be prepared to receive and give bodywork.
