Craniosacral Therapy (T502/E502)
with McDaniel Scruggs
CE Credits: 42 Hours
Cost: $900 ($945 if registering within 14 days of class)
Practicum required for course credit.
This class occurs over 3 weekends: October 3-4, November 7-8 and December 5-6, 2020 and is Co-Taught by Mary McDaniel, LMT and Terry Scruggs, LMT. All weekends must be attended for course credit.
This is a forty-two hour course of training in which the students refine their skills of palpation while learning the ten-step protocol of craniosacral therapy (Hugh Milne approach), myofascial release, advanced unwinding, and somato-emotional release.
Course Description: Craniosacral therapy is a subtle intent approach to releasing and balancing physical, emotional and somatic imbalance within the body. On the physical level, it focuses on releasing restrictions in the fascia of the abdominal, diaphragm and chest segments, and restrictions in the reciprocal tension membrane lining the skull and the spinal column, to normalize the volume, flow, and movement of cerebral-spinal fluid within the system. Although the movements employed are quite subtle, and the pressure of the work is delicate, the results can be profound in the treatment of a range of injuries and chronic conditions including headaches, neck pain, sinus headaches and chronic congestion, and back and hip problems, among many others.
The work is performed on clothed clients, and is very powerful in addressing touch issues for clients who are recovering from trauma or abuse. The energetics of intention and presence are stressed, since the somatic-emotional connection is central to the work.
You may want to bring note-taking supplies; all other equipment and supplies will be provided. Dress in comfortable clothing appropriate for giving and receiving work. Please do not wear jeans. Filtered hot & cold water are available onsite. Only drinks in covered cups are allowed in the classroom. A one-hour lunch break will be taken midday. Unwind, Rock and Move (C500)
with Teresa Greene
CE Credits: 13 Hours
Cost: $270 ($315 if registering within 7 days of class)
Unwind, Rock and Move is the methodology in which I now work with my massage clients and was created by first working with myself in pursuit of healing mind, body and spirit over many years.
Unwind, Rock and Move is fully clothed, slow bodywork. This class is mostly hands-on with some discussion. There are no prerequisites for this class.
It is my belief that our bodies were made to heal naturally when given the space and freedom to do so. When we slow down, make connection to the spirit within us and move where that spirit leads, we find freedom and fluidity. This fluidity encourages good health and balance (homeostasis)to our overall wellbeing….and isn’t that what every human needs!
I look forward to sharing how I work with each of you!
Wear shorts, yoga pants or moveable materials that allow your body to naturally bend and move. Please bring a large beach towel or blanket that you can place in the floor and 2 regular size pillows.
There is an Advanced Unwind, Rock and Move that is unclothed bodywork and this class is a prerequisite.
A lunch break will be taken midday; you may bring your lunch, or eat at one of the many restaurants located nearby.
