This workshop focuses on three interrelated phases and stages:

  • Active Cancer Stage
  • Post Treatment Phase
  • Surviving phase with remission stage

Introduction:  Cancer in its many variations (over 200 types have been identified) and treatments affect all clients in a holistic manner.  Body-Mind and Spirit are inextricably woven together and no one body part should be ignored. Cancer is systemic and long term. There is no single cause of cancer, like a virus, microbe or bacteria. Cancer is slow-acting and insidious. Therefore, the instructor has chosen three ancient, time-proven and modern bodywork modalities that work synergistically to create a healing environment in the client.  Also, none of these modalities are invasive or confrontational.

Protocol:  According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, when the Qi is blocked and stagnant, there is dis-ease. The goal is to create a balanced and free flow of Qi. The quickest way to access the Qi is through these four modalities:  Meditation, Acupressure, Reflexology and Manual Lymphatic Drainage.  The student will also learn to use ancient Gusa Sha tools for scar tissue release, stagnate Qi and blood flow, Trigger Points and more.

In addition, you will be taught the appropriate level of Touch/Pressure, contraindications and precautions and the best positioning for the client receiving. You will also discuss the three main current medical therapies and their side-effects: Chemotherapy, Radiation and Surgery.

Even if you have never treated clients with cancer, this workshop will be useful because it focuses on the IMMUNE system and any imbalances in health caused by Myofascial pain and emotional stress.  This workshop is excellent for post Covid survivors and should be seen as preventive as well.

What to Bring:  sheets/face cradle cover/blanket, lubrication and a hand towel.  Dress code should be sports bras and or tops that allow access to clavicle areas and abdominal areas.  Pants/shorts that can be pulled up over the knee.

** Wolfgang brings oils and Gua Sha tools to use in the class and he also offers them for sale to students in the class**

Call Teresa Greene at 615-370-9794 if you have any questions.

Craniosacral Therapy (T502/E502)

$1,040

with Terry Scruggs

Calendar Oct 5, 2024 at 9 am

CE Credits: 42 Hours
T502/E502
Cost: $1040 ($1085 if registering after September 16, 2024)
Practicum required for course credit.

This class occurs over 3 weekends:  April 6-7, May 4-5 and June 1-2, 2024 and is taught by Terry Scruggs, LMT. All weekend days must be attended for course credit.

This is a forty-two hour course of training in which the students refine their skills of palpation while learning the ten-step protocol of craniosacral therapy (Hugh Milne approach with some Upledger), myofascial release, advanced unwinding, and somato-emotional release.

Course Description: Craniosacral therapy is a subtle intent approach to releasing and balancing physical, emotional and somatic imbalance within the body. On the physical level, it focuses on releasing restrictions in the fascia of the abdominal, diaphragm and chest segments, and restrictions in the reciprocal tension membrane lining the skull and the spinal column, to normalize the volume, flow, and movement of cerebral-spinal fluid within the system. Although the movements employed are quite subtle, and the pressure of the work is delicate, the results can be profound in the treatment of a range of injuries and chronic conditions including headaches, neck pain, sinus headaches and chronic congestion, and back and hip problems, among many others.

The work is performed on clothed clients, and is very powerful in addressing touch issues for clients who are recovering from trauma or abuse. The energetics of intention and presence are stressed, since the somatic-emotional connection is central to the work.

What to Bring:  Please bring a set of sheets, face cradle cover and personal blanket for each day of class for your personal usage. Craniosacral is clothed bodywork and no lubrication is needed. You may want to bring note-taking supplies and a class manual is provided. Massage tables are also provided. Dress in comfortable clothing appropriate for giving and receiving work; Please do not wear jeans.

Only drinks in covered cups are allowed in the classroom. A one-hour lunch break will be taken midday. You may bring your lunch or eat at one of the many restaurants located nearby.

Call Teresa Greene at 615-370-9794 if you have any questions.

Payment plan available: $350 deposit plus 12 payments of $57.50, paid every two weeks.
