with Wolfgang Luckmann

CE Credits: 17 Hours
NCBTMB Approved Provider #279778-00
Cost: $430 ($475 if registering within 7 days of class)
Reflexology and Acupressure are 5000 year-old techniques which were introduced to the United States in the early 1900’s. They are based in the connection of the reflex zones and acupressure points in the hands and feet which are linked to every organ, tissue, gland, and part of the body through energy or qi, which travels through zones and channels. This course will also employ aromatherapy essential oils to enhance the effects of the work.
Objective:
- Learn the location and function of reflex zones and acupressure points in the hand and feet
- Relate each zone and meridian to the physiological systems of the body and how energy medicine enhances their function
- You will learn the function and value of essential oils
- You will learn how to recognize important pathologies in the feet through special palpation
- Perform a comprehensive treatment using essential oils, reflexology and acupressure
Reflexology and Aromatherapy can be used in all chronic or difficult myofascial and viral conditions. Both zone and acupressure points are manipulated with the oils in techniques which come from Tibetan medicine. The combination of Eastern and Western techniques is deeper and more revitalizing than conventional Western reflexology.

Muscle Melting: Non-Force Deep Tissue Massage(C875)
with Theresa Wilkes

CE Credits: 8 Hours -- NCBTMB# 450891-08
Cost: $250 ($295 if registering within 7 days of class)
MUST HAVE 10 STUDENTS REGISTERED FOR THE CLASS TO BE HELD.
To many people, Deep Tissue Massage means hard, aggressive, painful techniques meant to force the muscle to release tension. This type of work can leave the client with increased pain and the therapist burned out with stressed hands and joints. The latest anatomy research and development of advanced techniques show us the way to work in cooperation with the nervous system, the muscle proprioceptors, and the lymphatic system, engaging the body’s own healing mechanisms in order to release muscle tension and pain more thoroughly, deeply, and gently.
This class will teach the therapist to identify and flush inflammation out of the muscles in preparation for deep work. Slow, sinking strokes performed with soft hands and optimal body alignment will calm the nervous system and lower proprioceptive activity. Effective, specific routines of non-force, deep tissue massage for the low back & hips, upper back & rotator cuff, and neck will be demonstrated and practiced.
What to Bring: Bring a set of sheets/blanket, face cradle cover, lubrication, hand towel, blanket, wear comfortable clothes and bring materials to take notes. Massage tables are provided. A lunch break will be taken midday. You may bring your lunch, or eat at one of the many restaurants located nearby.

Sarah Brant’s call to massage therapy began early in life. Dealing with crippling headaches for years, the only relief she found was in massage. She believed so strongly in this way of healing and sought to help others who were experiencing similar issues. Sarah has been practicing bodywork since graduating from Southeastern Institute in Charlotte, NC in 2013. She went on to work for Eden Therapy and Massage before opening her own practice, Turning Pointe Massage, in 2016.
Sarah is a retired classically trained ballerina and Black Belt in Tang Soo Do, now combining her passions into educating others on the importance of self-care, body movement, and stretching! She was recommended by a teacher to take a Thai Massage CE class and from her first class with Living Sabai in June of 2019, she knew that she was meant for Thai Massage! She immediately began taking all of Living Sabai’s courses, falling in love with being a TA, and finally traveling to Chiang Mai, Thailand in January 2023 for the study abroad trip. There she studied at ITM and OmSala. Her favorite part of teaching is watching students fall in love with Thai massage and find a revitalization for their practices.
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys camping with her husband, son, and Australian Shepherd. As a family they love to travel, mountain bike, and listen to live music.
